All player registrations for 2024 must be completed online through Play HQ. Registrations are now open and will close on 18th February 2024 (or when teams are full). Please register ASAP to ensure you secure your spot!
Returning players must register by 4th February to ensure their place is held in their existing team (unless grading is required for that age). After this date all registrations will be taken on a first in first placed system until teams are full. Places in teams cannot be guaranteed after registrations close. Links can be found at the end of this document. Please read through all the important information below.
Fees
Net Set Go Comp 6-8yrs: $205
Juniors 9-17yrs: $225
Seniors 18yrs+: $245
Non-player: FREE
Please register into the category in which you are planning to play as that is what your registration fee is. For instance, a person turning 17 this year that is playing in a senior team needs to register under Seniors 18+ as that is what they will be playing. The same goes for a player turning 8 this year intending to play under 9s, you would register under Juniors 9-17 years.
Our club registration fee includes everything upfront that is required to run the club for the year including but not limited to court fees, umpiring fees, duty fee, equipment, subscriptions & fundraising levy. Active Kids Voucher is non-refundable or transferable. Forfeit fees and fines issued by PDNA are payable by the team throughout the season.
New Players
Any new players will need to provide a photo. All new players up to 18 years old are also required to provide a copy of their birth certificate or passport. These can be emailed to riverlandsnetball@hotmail.com.
Active Kids Rebate
The Active Kids program provides a voucher for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs. The current program and its vouchers expire on 31st January 2024. Vouchers must be applied by this date, at time of registration. Unfortunately, if they are not applied at the time of registering, we are unable to redeem them for you at a later date so please ensure you apply them when registering so you don’t miss out.
Payment
This year all payments must be made online at the time of registration. Payments are made through PlayHQ. PlayHQ has heard your feedback, and our netball participants will have the ability to make full payment or alternatively to pay in fortnightly instalments using PayPal “Pay in 4” option from 24th January 2024. If due to unforeseen circumstances, you are unable to pay in full at the time of registration, please contact us directly so we can work something out for you.
Uniforms
We will be holding a uniform day/night in February for new and existing players. Details to follow soon. Existing players please try your uniforms on NOW to see if you will need to attend to order a new uniform. Uniforms need to be ordered early so that they arrive in time for the start of the competition. If you do not order at the uniform day/night you may not be able to have your new uniform for the first round of the competition.
Competition Starting Date
The 2024 PDNA season commences on Saturday 4th May 2024. Training days and times depend on individual teams and coaches. Grading
Riverlands committee will make a decision regarding JUNIOR grading upon completion of registrations on 18th February 2024. If JUNIOR age groups are required to be graded, players affected will be notified immediately and then grading will be held on weeknight (date to be confirmed) between 5:30pm-7:30pm at Jamison Park. Teams may be selected purely on paper grading which is based on the coaches’ report of each players 2023 winter team performance. Twilight is not taken into consideration.
Coaching
An integral part of all netball teams is the coach. Once again in 2024 we will be looking at recruiting coaches for our NetSetGo and Junior teams that do not have returning coaches. Even for some of our younger senior teams who still wish to be coached. If you are interested in coaching or have a friend that is interested please email us at riverlandsnetball@hotmail.com with your information and we will get back to you.
Umpires
Umpires are an extremely important part of our club identity. Riverlands Netball Club encourage all seniors and players 12 years upward to sit for the Umpires exam. Parents who are non-players are welcome to sit for the umpire’s exam, a chance to learn the rules first hand! Rule books are readily available online, check our website for the link. Umpire exams are now also available on-line, the link for this can also be found on our website. Once you have sat your exam please print off your results and provide a copy for our umpire convenor. If you are interested in umpiring and would like more information, please contact us at riverlandsumpiring@hotmail.com.
As per our by-laws, it is MANDATORY for ALL senior teams registered in the 2024 to nominate an appropriately badged umpire to cover the team’s umpiring commitments for the entire season.
